SAN MATEO (KRON)—A big-rig carrying chicken parts spilled on northbound Interstate 101 Thursday afternoon in San Mateo and closed three lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck stopped short in heavy traffic near Kehoe Avenue around 4 p.m.
The chicken parts sloshed out of the top of the open trailer which was covered with a tarp, according to the Redwood City CHP.
A Caltrans crew was called to scoop up the parts using a pickup truck and a front loader. The lanes reopened about 30 minutes later.
No injuries or vehicle damage was reported.
Working on it, we’ll have the road open shortly. Thank you @CaltransD4 for the quick response. pic.twitter.com/yUOCMNc3yW— CHP RWC (@CHP_RedwoodCity) December 9, 2016
