OAKLAND (KRON) — A charter school teacher was one of the 36 victims killed in the devastating Oakland warehouse fire.

Sara Hoda, 30, was a support teacher for 1st through 3rd graders at Oakland’s Urban Montessori Charter School.

The head of the school David Castillo says she had a way with kids and that she will be remembered as a ‘humble spirit’. Hoda joined the Montessori School back in September.

Grief counselors are being made available all week and the kids are said to be expressing their emotions by drawing pictures and working on cards and letters for ‘Miss Sara’ as their late teacher was known.
