OAKLAND (KRON) — TNT analyst and NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley defended Draymond Green’s actions when asked about the Golden State Warriors star’s recent arrest.

Green was arrested early Sunday morning for assault after allegedly slapping a heckler outside of a bar in Michigan.

“Good for Draymond Green,” Barkley said on Dan Le Batard’s ESPN Radio show Tuesday morning.

Barkley blamed the media for giving fans the power to disrespect and “say anything they want about these professional players.”

“Y’all make them feel like their opinion is important,” Barkley said. “Y’all have given these fans a voice where they think they can disrespect these players because of the amount of money they make and things like that. So, more power to Draymond for slapping the hell out of that kid, whoever he was.”

Green was released from jail on a $200 bond. He now faces a fine up to $500 and up to 90 days in jail.
