SANTA CLARA COUNTY (KRON)—A judge has denied a change of venue request Thursday for a man charged with the kidnapping and killing of a 15-year-old girl four years ago.

25-year-old Antolin Garcia-Torres will have his trial in Santa Clara County for the Sierra LaMar murder case.

Garcia-Torres’ attorneys filed a change of venue motion and a judge heard arguments during a hearing on Tuesday.

Sierra LaMar disappeared on March 16, 2012. LaMar was last seen leaving her Morgan Hill home that same day to catch the school bus.

Garcia-Torres was identified as a suspect after LaMar’s DNA was found inside his car, prosecutors said. He was arrested in May 2012 and indicted in February 2014.

LaMar’s remains have never been found.
