A homeowner woke up to alerts from their home web camera system saying that something happened out of the normal — a car crashed into their house and then drove away.
The visual of it now haunts the homeowner, who told KRON4 his young child often plays where the car hit.
CHP says on June 7 just after 8 p.m. a black BMW M coupe was driving recklessly on Magellan Avenue in Miramar, just north of Half Moon Bay, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into David Hodge’s house.
“I think the most chilling part is the guy just drove off without wondering if he killed anybody,” said Hodge.
Hodge is currently in Sweden, where he has been since before the crash.
His web security camera system alerted him of the crash and he logged into his account and watched the video.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, but David said it’s a highly trafficked area and he his haunted by the thought that his kid could have been run over had they been home.
“I mean, what was this guy thinking — the street is full of pedestrians and bikers and I have a daughter,” he said.
