Frightening moments for a young woman who was attacked right at her front door.
It happened in Florida and it was all caught on camera.
And because the suspect is still on the loose, the victim is afraid to leave the house.
Victim off cam: “Very scared, I’m still scared,” said the victim, who did not want to be identified. “I can’t even sleep at night.”
The victim is too shaken up to show her face after fighting off danger at her own doorstep.
“It was so fast, and I didn’t have time to think,” the victim said.
She’s describing the terrifying moment she was attacked in front of her home by a man police describe as armed and dangerous.
Police say 34-year-old Tavares Canty is wanted for attempted kidnapping and sexual battery. He is seen on video trying to force his way inside of the woman’s Little Haiti home on Thursday morning.
And after a struggle, the 29-year-old gets away unharmed.
“Very lucky, very lucky,” she said.
Unfortunately, another woman would also become a victim.
About an hour after this struggle, police say Canty broke into a nearby home and sexually assaulted the woman inside at gunpoint, leaving the area after the attack on a bike.
“He is very violent,” Miami police Cmdr. Freddie Cruz said. “He has numerous previous charges of robbery, burglary, weapons possession, and we do know that he was armed in this sexual assault.”
And while police continue to search, the woman, who says she’s too afraid to leave the house, is asking anyone with info to come forward.
“Please call the police,” the victim said. “Not to me to try to sleep at night, but for every girl around here. For every woman, for everybody that is in here that is scared because I believe that he’s still around.”
