RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Toby has found himself a new, loving home.

When his first family didn’t want him anymore and gave him to another family, the persistent kitty walked 12 miles back home. Earlier this month, the family who didn’t want Toby anymore decided to take him to a shelter and asked for him to be euthanized, according to a release from the Wake County SPCA.

The shelter called the Wake County SPCA and asked for Toby to be taken in so he could have a chance at adoption.

That’s exactly what happened. According to the SPCA, Toby was welcomed into a new home with three siblings — two human and one feline.

The SPCA encourages those moved by Toby’s story to sign up for the 2018 Dog Walk & Woofstock.

“If he will walk 12 miles to save his own life, will you walk one?” a release from the Wake SPCA asked.
