DANVILLE (BCN) — A vehicle accidentally struck a 12-year-old bicyclist on Thursday afternoon in Danville, according to a town spokesman.
The boy was on his bicycle in a crosswalk at San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Greenbrook Drive at about 4:30 p.m. when a vehicle hit him, Danville spokesman Geoff Gillette said.
A medical helicopter airlifted the boy, who Gillette said had labored breathing and abdominal pain, to Children’s Hospital Oakland.
The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Preliminary information indicates the collision was accidental, Gillette said.
