PINOLE (KRON)– Thousands of Contra Costa County residents were without power when a car crashed into a pole Tuesday evening.
The car crashed into a power pole at Pinole Valley Road and Marlin Court around 9:20 pm.
When CHP officials got to the accident site, they didn’t find anybody in the car involved.
It left 4,381 customers in Pinole, Richmond and El Sobrante without power for more than an hour.
PG&E officials were able to get power restored by 10:25 p.m.
They are working to repair the damaged pole and power lines are hanging a few feet away from the ground, CHP Officer Damian Cistaro said.
The repair work has closed Pinole Valley Road, which turns into Alhambra Valley Road, between Marlin Court and Castro Ranch Road, Cistaro said.
There is no estimated time of when the roadway will reopen, according to Cistaro.
