CANDLESTICK PARK (KRON) — It will take at least another three weeks to completely raze the iconic Candlestick park.

The slow demolition of Candlestick is bittersweet for many San Francisco residents, who see it as the end of a era.

The stadium, which was constructed in 1959, has hosted baseball games, football games, and famously hosted the Beatles’ final concert on August 29, 1966.

The infamously windy stadium was discontinued as the Giant’s primary ball field in 2013.  The Giants moved to AT&T park on the embarcadero.
