REDWOOD CITY (KRON) — A woman has died after being struck by Caltrain in Redwood City Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at about 6:15 a.m. at Whipple Avenue and involved northbound Caltrain No. 305. Caltrain officials initially tweeted that the train was involved in a trespasser incident.
The incident initially prompted the stopping of trains in both directions, but trains began single-tracking through the area as of shortly before 7:30 a.m., according to Caltrain.
Caltrain officials were reporting delays of up to 90 minutes and a bus bridge was put in place between Redwood City and Belmont Stations.
BART is also began accepting Caltrain fare.
