UPDATE 5:00 P.M.: New information from Caltrain:

The southbound track has been released for service at a restricted speed of 15 miles per hour. Southbound 360 will be released first followed by Northbound trains 261 and 263. NB 261 will accommodate the passengers from the incident train NB 159.

Commuters should expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

There is no damage to the gate at the crossing where the incident happened, Caltrain officials said.

No injuries have been reported.

BURLINGAME (KRON) — A Caltrain has hit a vehicle in Burlingame Thursday afternoon, according to the transit agency.

Caltrain reported the collision just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Riders should expect delays and seek alternate transit, Caltrain said.

The northbound 159 train struck a vehicle at Broadway Avenue in Burlingame, Caltrain said.. The vehicle reportedly left the scene of the incident. Trains will hold in both directions as they reach Burlingame until the scene can be assessed, Caltrain spokesperson Jayme Ackemann said.
