Two brothers from Northern California were among the 157 people killed in the plane crash in Ethiopia.
Mel and Bennett Riffel were from Redding.
Parishioners at their old elementary school have started placing flowers at the base of a bell tower in the brothers’ memory.
They were on an adventure before the birth of Mel’s daughter in May.
The pastor of St. Joseph Church and School visited with the parents on Monday.
“Their faith is really strong, really strong. Of course, you can imagine how they feel as parents as well, he said.
Their parents say they appreciate the outpouring of love and support from the community and are asking for continued prayers.
