A magnitude 4.5 earthquake has struck off the Northern California coast on Thursday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake hit at around 10:01 p.m. and had a depth of 13.2 kilometers (8.2 miles).
The earthquake was centered about 29 kilometers (18 miles) west of Petrolia, California and 66 kilometers (41 miles) southwest of Eureka.
