(KRON) — AAA’s “Holiday Safe Ride” program begins tonight at 6 p.m. in dozens of Northern California counties, including several in the Bay Area. 

The ride program provides impaired drivers a free ride home and a tow of their car up to 10 miles. Individuals can only be taken to their home or a hotel. The program begins New Year’s Eve night at 6 p.m., ending New Year’s Day at 6 a.m. 

AAA says you don’t have to be a member to use the service. To get assistance in Northern California, call (855) 286-9246. 

The program is offered in the following Northern California counties: 

Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba.
