Thirteen members of a Southern California street gang have been indicted on federal narcotics and firearms charges.
The indictments announced Wednesday targeted members of a group known as the Inglewood Family Gang, which federal authorities say evolved from a Los Angeles-area street gang to an organized national criminal enterprise with cliques in 10 other states.
The FBI says seven of the defendants were arrested this week and four were arrested last year.
The investigation was conducted jointly by an FBI task force on violent gangs in metropolitan Los Angeles and the Inglewood Police Department.
