SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — California Regulators have asked car-hailing service Uber to stop the use of self-driving car service in San Francisco until it gets state permit.
The Associated Press first tweeted about the regulators demands Dec. 14 approximately at 3:33 p.m., this comes after Uber launched the self-driving vehicle program on Wednesday.

The tech company received major backlash from state regulators due to California law stating that a test is required for self-driving prototype vehicles. According to officials, Uber does not have any permits.
In response to state law, Uber claimed the law does not apply to them because it’s cars require a human backup.
The certain types of vehicles that are being used by Uber include handful of luxury SUV’s from Volvo, the company did not speculate how many SUV’s will be part of the program.
Uber self-driving cars have had a rough start as dash cam video sent to KRON4 News by a viewer displayed how one of the vehicles ran a red light.
Uber has yet to respond to California regulators.
