BERKELEY (KRON)—Some U.C. Berkeley students skipped class Thursday saying they wanted to send a clear message to administrators.

Catherine Heenan is here with the latest on a professor being investigated for sexual harassment.

Those students are still angry that they’re only now finding out about a teacher accused of sexually harassing one of his female grad students.

61-year-old Nezar Al Sayyad is being allowed to continue teaching as the investigation continues.

A small group of students sat outside Thursday skipping classes.

They argue the school seems to care more about its tenured teachers as opposed to making student safety the top priority.

They say the case was unfolding long before U.C. Berkeley students were told about the accusations.

This week, students were offered the chance to leave the class taught by Al Sayyad and take it with another teacher.

The architecture professor has denied doing anything wrong.
