HERCULES (KRON)– Police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a child molestation case that police say took place over the course of a year at a daycare provider in Hercules.

The parent of the 13-year-old girl reported that her daughter was a victim of sexual assault.
Police say the incident started when the victim was 10-years-old and continued for about a year.
The 13-year-old frequented a daycare located in the 100 block of Paradise in Hercules. She often spent the night and weekends with the daycare provider.
The suspect, Bartolomucci, is the boyfriend of the daycare provider and was well known to the victim and her family.
During the investigation, police found that the suspect would wait until his girlfriend would go to work and then would sexually assault the victim.
Police say that the victim did not tell anyone earlier because she was afraid. When she got older, she found the courage to come forward.
