Boy Scout leader accused of sending nude photos of himself to boy

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pinellas Park Boy Scout leader is accused of sending nude photos of himself to a 14-year-old boy.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Patrick Ferguson, age 18, at his home on Wednesday morning.

Detectives say they began investigating Ferguson in June after receiving information that he had sent a nude image of himself to the victim.

Ferguson had been appointed as a leader within the Boy Scouts at the time the incident had occurred.

Detectives arrested Ferguson and charged him with one felony count of transmission of material harmful to a minor by electronic device and one felony count of certain uses of computer services or devices prohibited.
