SAN JOSE (KRON)– Officials are looking into a body that was found in a swimming pool at Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose.

The San Jose Police Department was called to the school, located at 1377 Piedmont Road, just after 8:45 a.m. Friday morning.

Piedmont Hills High School is part of the East Side Unified School District.

There are two pools at Piedmont Hills High.

One is a 25-yard lap pool, the other a dive tank used by the dive and water polo teams.

The body of an adult male was pulled from the dive tank, on the side by the boys locker room.

The San Jose Police Dept. has confirmed that the body found was not a student at the school.

Police don’t know the circumstances surrounding this death.

They have handed the investigation over to the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.

The school has cancelled classes for the day and released the students.
