FAIRFIELD (KRON) — Police have released an officer’s body cam footage of an interaction between officers and the mother of a kidnapped Fairfield boy. An amber alert was issued early Monday morning after a suspect stole the family’s car with the 8-year-old boy in the back seat. The boy was later found sleeping in the backseat of the car a few blocks away, while police detained a suspect.
When officers arrived on the scene, they asked to search the family’s home. The mother adamantly refused, saying a search of her house had nothing to do with her missing son.
The family released a statement Tuesday that they planned on taking legal action against the Fairfield Police force for the way they were treated during the search for their son. Watch the video above and decide for yourself how the family was treated.
