Berkeley library to reopen Tuesday, now bed-bug fee

BERKELEY (KRON) — Two Bay Area libraries are now free of bed bugs after the pests were discovered last week.

The North Berkeley library will reopen Tuesday morning. It has been closed for cleaning for several days.

Bug-sniffing dogs found the bed bugs at the end of the week, so everything was steam cleaned. The focus was on areas by the public computers, and a chair was removed for cleaning.

On Saturday, they used heat to clear the areas. The library will reopen Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

The Mitchell Park Library in Palo Alto reopened Monday morning after it was infested with bed bugs.
