HEALDSBURG (KRON)—A bear was spotted walking on Highway 128 near Healdsburg Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities responded to the sighting around noon, and sent wildlife experts to see if the bear needed to be trapped, the CHP said.

The bear went into a fenced area at a vineyard, State Department of Fish and Wildlife environmental program manager Greg Martinelli said.

Fish and Wildlife crews usually wait to for the bear to find its way out of the enclosure, Martinelli said.

A lot of bears are spotted in Napa Valley, according to Fish and Wildlife officials.
