(WKRN) — The Better Business Bureau says scammers are posing as companies on Instagram and taking money from unsuspecting victims.
Here’s how this scam works:
A fake company asks you to become a brand ambassador. All you have to do is post pictures using their products and the company promises to pay you.
But there’s a catch.
Before you get started you have to buy the clothing, cosmetics or other products they claim to sell. Many times the products arrive broken or they never arrive at all.
The BBB warns consumers to do some research before agreeing to work with a company on Instagram.
