SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Get ready for the outrageous costumes and off the wall props for the annual Bay to Breakers footrace in San Francisco this Sunday.

This year, the Zappos.com sponsored event will include a special world record feature. Working in partnership with Recordsetter.com, race organizers say they hope to set 40 whacky world records during the run. Some examples: “longest time doing squats in seven inch heels,” “most people to take a selfie with a port-o-potty.” Organizers say they’re also attempting to set the world record for the most world records ever set at the same event.

The 12k run starts at Main and Howard Streets near the Embarcadero and ends at the breakers at Ocean Beach.

KRON 4’s Michelle Apon (who got a little help from Bay to Breakers mascot Ape Hashbury this morning) says participants can expect good running conditions with temperatures in the low to mid 50’s and winds staying light.

For those who still want to sign-up, it’s not too late. Registration is open through Saturday.

The race begins Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
