Warriors’ Steph Curry is about to make a young boy’s dream come true on Wednesday.
Johnathan Page,7, was diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder called Methylmalonic acidemia.
It prevents the body from properly digesting fats and proteins. As a result, Page suffered a stroke and his motor functions are deteriorating.
His mother Loree said he was also diagnosed with hyper kenetic cerebral palsy.
“He has a lot of involuntary movements that he can’t control,” she said.
Loree says that doesn’t stop him from remaining active. Page plays in a wheelchair basketball league.
His mother said the disorder has a high mortality rate, but the family is optimistic.
“We’re gonna take whatever God shows us,” she said.” …we’re just going to live life to the fullest.”
Non-profit organization, Dream on 3 is helping make that happen.
The organization arranged for Page and his family to meet Curry in the Bay Area on Wednesday.
Page and Curry have a few things in common–both love basketball and hail from Charlotte, North Carolina.
