Woman killed, 4-year-old injured in Oakland hit-and-run

OAKLAND (KRON) – Police in Oakland are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a woman on Tuesday.

Around 11:19 a.m. police responded to the area of Foothill Boulevard and 22nd Avenue following reports of an accident involving two pedestrians and a car.

Authorities say an adult woman and a 4-year-old girl were struck by the car.

The woman was pronounced dead.

The family identified the woman as Huong Truong, 45.

They told KRON4’s Taylor Bisacky that she was picking up her 4-year-old niece from school when the crash occurred.

Both were in a marked crosswalk.

At this time, the 4-year-old is in stable condition, according to police.

Police say they towed a vehicle connected to the crash, but that it wasn’t the main vehicle officers are looking for.

Investigators are still working to find the primary suspect’s vehicle in the crash.
