San Mateo police are searching for a man suspected of stealing a woman’s undergarments during an open house over the weekend.
Surveillance video captured the incident and shows the man walking through the home with a big bulge in his jacket that wasn’t there when he first walked in.
A realtor let the man in and spoke to him briefly about the home before leaving him alone.
KRON4’s Michelle Kingston spoke with the homeowner who said now his wife’s bras are missing.
“He definitely comes out of our room stuffing the undergarments in his jacket walks to the other side of the house where there are four other bedrooms and then comes back with a very noticeable bulge in his stomach,” he said.
Police say it’s obvious the man stole something from the home and want to locate the suspect.
Michael Haobsh, public information officer for the SMPD said, “We want to interview him, we want to find out what his intentions are, why he was in the house and if he ended up stealing something and we want to look at his background.”
Police and the homeowner agree that it is likely the man has stolen items from other homes or is planning to do so.
