The suspect driver in a fatal DUI crash that killed three people in Fremont was released from jail on Friday.
Dang Tran, 21, is accused of driving under the influence of marijuana when he caused a five-car accident in Fremont on Tuesday, killing three people and sending five to the hospital.
Tran was released at around 9 p.m. Friday.
The Alameda County District Attorney needs more information from CHP to file charges against Tran.
Two of the victims killed were 9 and 14-year-old sisters Brooke and Christy Limas of Manteca.
The other was identified as 39-year-old Noelle Johnson, who is the girlfriend of the girls’ father.
The family was driving back from a birthday party in the when the crash happened.
Authorities say Tran will be released from Santa Rita Jail Friday evening.
