Caught on camera: Jewelry thieves hit diamond store at Concord’s Sun Valley Mall

CONCORD, Calif. (KRON) — The search is on for the people who robbed a jewelry store at the Sun Valley Mall in Concord.

The Iceberg Diamonds store was open for business at the time of the robbery, around 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Concord Police Department said it was a group of nine people.

Multiple people reportedly smashed the cases and took off with jewelry. It does not appear anyone inside was hurt, but glass was shattered everywhere.

Employees who tried to intervene were kept back due to the hammers that the suspects were armed with, police said. No shots were fired during the robbery.

The amount of jewelry taken is unknown at this time.
