The United States Postal Service is alerting Bay Area residents not to be alarmed if you start seeing mail delivered as early as 5:30 a.m.
The change is happening in the coming weeks.
It comes as the USPS ramps up package deliveries for the holidays.
The postal service projects a double-digit increase in package volume this year, saying more than 900 million packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
And this year, it is shifting focus from the busiest day to the busiest week.
That will be Dec. 17 to the 23rd.
