MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) — The Marin County Sheriff’s Office said officials investigated a suspicious package near the Marin County Jail on Wednesday morning and found no threat.

They had previously asked people to avoid the area as of 8:25 a.m. while the package was inspected by the UC Berkeley Bomb Squad.

Authorities say the help was called in out of an abundance of caution.

“The area surrounding the Marin County Jail and Civic Center are now open,” the sheriff’s office said at 10:12 a.m.
