Police have arrested the suspect who stole a police car in Hayward Tuesday morning.
40-year-old Andrew Trujillo was found in Hayward in another stolen truck. Trujillo was found on Mission Boulevard near Smalley Avenue.
According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to the area of Holger Way on a report of stolen semi-truck in the area.
At the scene, officers found the suspect, Trujillo, in the truck and took him into custody.
But police say somehow Trujillo managed to escape from the back of the car and fled the scene in the patrol car.
The patrol car was later located in the area of Clawiter Road and W. Winton Avenue in Hayward. All weapons were accounted for, police say.
