(CNN) — The former sailing coach at Stanford University is expected to be sentenced Wednesday in the college admissions scandal.
John Vandemoer pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit racketeering for arranging bribes to the sailing program.
He then designated two applicants with no sailing experience as recruits.
Stanford fired Vandemoer the very same day he pleaded guilty.
Vandemoer was among 50 people, including parents and coaches, arrested in connection with the scandal in March.
He will be the first person to be sentenced in the admissions scam.
