SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A series of powerful late season storms will impact the Bay Area through the middle of next week.

The first storm will bring light rain starting Wednesday morning. Heavy rain and gusty winds will develop across the entire Bay Area in the afternoon and evening.

The heaviest rain is forecast for the North Bay coastal mountains with at least two inches from Wednesday through Thursday.

Some trees and powerlines could come down.

Thunderstorms are very possible tomorrow afternoon and evening and continuing into Thursday.

The second storm system arrives late Saturday with more heavy rain possible. Showers and thunderstorms are possible on Sunday as well.

Storm no. 3 is a little difficult to forecast but could bring more rain on Tuesday and possibly Wednesday of next week.

The Sierra could see as much as 20 inches of snow above 6,000 feet through Friday morning.
