SAN RAMON, Calif. (KRON) – San Ramon police have located and arrested a murder suspect involved in an extensive search earlier Tuesday.

Reynaldo John Sanchez, who’s wanted for P.C. 187 (Murder) out of Florida, fled from police near Bollinger Canyon Road between Briar Oaks & N. Monarch Drive.

“When our officers briefly lost sight of the car, he pulled into the neighborhood pictured earlier and fled on foot,” according to San Ramon police.

The suspect was located after an “alert community member” reported him.

The search prompted a shelter-in-place and lockdown at Gayle Ranch Middle School.

Those lockdowns were lifted at 5:50 p.m., according to police, who tweeted “we are no longer requesting residents stay within their homes.”

A heavy police presence remained in the area of Bollinger Canyon Rd near N. Monarch Dr as authorities continued to search for Sanchez.
