SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Bruno Police arrest is linked to a catalytic converter investigation.

San Bruno Police Officers located a stolen vehicle on Interstate 380 on Camino Real at 1:00 a.m.

The same vehicle was involved in two separate police chases. The car failed to stop, and San Bruno Police tracked the car, police report.

The chase stopped on Connecticut Street at 22nd Street, in San Francisco. The driver intentionally reversed into the San Bruno Police patrol vehicle and disabled it. The driver left on foot after the crash and was not found after an extensive search, police say.

However, the passenger was arrested.

Evidence found in the car indicated the suspects were involved in a theft/attempted theft of catalytic converters.

Officials say the 20-year-old passenger was booked into San Mateo County Jail for charges related to possession of ammunition/high-capacity magazine, possession of controlled substance and possession of burglary tools.

The investigation remains ongoing.
