It’s getting hot in the Bay Area as we get closer to the first day of summer.
According to the National Weather Service, it is possible that we will see record high temperatures on Sunday across the Bay.
You can expect temperatures to reach the 80s to low 90s along the coast and 90s to 100s moving inland.
Here are some June 9 record-breaking temps:
- Santa Rosa forecast is 98 — Reached 99 in 1973
- Downtown SF forecast is 89 — Reached 91 in 1986
- Oakland Airport forecast is 89 — Reached 86 in 1008
- San Jose Airport forecast 96 — Reached 102 in 1973
There is a Spare the Air alert issued for Sunday due to a mix of the high temperatures, wind, and car exhaust.
A Red Flag Warning will also remain in effect until 5 p.m. on Sunday for the high elevations of Sonoma County.
Stay cool and be safe in this heat wave.
