Police arrest 3, including teen, in connection to Santa Rosa park shooting

SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Three people have been arrested in connection to Wednesday’s shooting at a Santa Rosa park that injured four people, police said Friday. 

The person believed to be the shooter has been identified by police as a 17-year-old boy from Rohnert Park. 


The teenage suspect was arrested near Boonville in Mendocino County after officers stopped him on Highway 128. 

Two others were arrested for allegedly helping the suspected shooter evade arrest.

Those additional suspects were identified by police as 23-year-old Michael Beltran and 19-year-old Lukas Philip Cortina. 

The 17-year-old suspect was booked into juvenile hall on four counts of attempted murder and felony gang charges. 

The two adult suspects were booked in county jail on multiple gang-related charges. 

The shooting occurred Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. at Jacobs Park in Santa Rosa. There were several soccer games happening nearby during the shooting. 

An 11-year-old boy, 21-year-old man, 20-year-old man and 46-year-old man were injured. 

Police believe the 21-year-old victim was the intended target.
