OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — A fatal shooting was reported near the Bay Bridge on Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
According to CHP, it happened around 9:12 a.m.
CHP said a man, woman, and two children were traveling in a SUV westbound on I-80 just east of West Grand Avenue when their SUV was hit by gunfire.
The woman, who was sitting in the right-front passenger seat, was hit by the gunfire and died from her injuries, authorities said. The man and two children were not injured.
CHP closed several lanes of westbound I-80 to search for evidence. All lanes were opened several hours later.
CHP has not released any suspect information just yet.
