CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON) — California Highway Patrol officials say all lanes on Highway 4 have reopened after in Antioch after a suspicious abandoned car was found.

Authorities said the car was believed to have an explosive device in it, but it wasn’t confirmed.

As of 2:46 p.m., officials say the device resembled something similar to a pipe bomb and was removed safely.

While investigating, traffic was being directed off westbound Highway 4 at Contra Loma Boulevard and L Street.

No other details have been made available.
