Are you feeling lucky? Some people in San Jose definitely do.
Lines at convenience stores across the Bay Area are full of people hoping to win the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot.
Tuesday is the big drawing, and people are flocking to one San Jose liquor store that sold a winning ticket just a few months ago.
They’re feeling lucky! And they say this is a lucky store because back in July, they sold a $543 million winning ticket.
The owner’s son told KRON4 that people are driving from all over the Bay Area–even one guy from Lodi just to buy a ticket at this store.
There are big dreams in the bay for people hoping they have the winning Mega Millions ticket.
At Ernie’s Liquors in San Jose, people are hoping the store gets lucky twice after selling the $543 million ticket back in July.
It’s not all about fancy houses and cars for the ticket holders KRON4 spoke to, but some have some big plans if they win the largest prize in United States lottery history on Tuesday.
“With this much at stake, we should be willing to give back to our communities and that’s a fact, so I’m hoping we win because we have a lot of lives we want to help,” San Jose resident Richard Armendariz said.
Jesse Soto was among the lottery jackpot hopefuls on Monday.
“Hopefully! At least a dream you know,” Soto said. “What the heck? Let’s dream for a little while at least.”
Store owners here say if you think the line is long on Monday, just wait until Tuesday.
