A man is accused of inappropriately touching himself while watching children at a trampoline facility in Fremont.

Police were eventually able to track down the man, identified as 55-year-old Jose Ortiz Felix of Newark, with the help of witnesses.

On Sunday, Mar. 31, Ortiz Felix was chased out of Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park by employees and parents of children visiting there.

“There were a lot of kids, is my understanding,” Ricardo Cortes said. “Uh, this was a very busy place, busy time, with lots of children.”

Fremont Police Sergeant Ricardo Cortes says before the chase, the parents and employees approached Ortiz Felix that day.

“This person came there with nothing to do with anybody there, came by himself,” Cortes said. “Witnesses there reported seeing an adult male rubbing his genitals. Um, in the presence of these children.”

He got into his car and left after he was chased out of the business. Witnesses got his license plate number and turned it over to police.

Nine days later, police tracked him down and arrested him on a misdemeanor charge of engaging in lewd conduct in public.

Cortes adds that Ortiz Felix does not have a prior record of any sex offenses in Alameda County.

“If there’s anybody out there that has had similar interactions with this person, has anything to add, please feel free to contact us, uh and ask to speak with the patrol officer,” Cortes said.

Ortiz Felix has already posted bail and is no longer in jail. He is due in court in June.
