SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) – The Main Jail in San Jose was on lockdown Wednesday morning after an armed suspect fired shots.
According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, the man was alone and contained inside the basement parking lot.
Authorities tweeted just before 6 a.m. that the suspect had peacefully surrendered and is currently in custody.
Although the suspect had fired shots, official said no injuries were reported.
People are advised to avoid the area.
The following road closures are in place:
- Hedding at San Pedro St.
- Hedding at Guadalupe Pkwy
- Guadalupe Pkwy at West Mission St
- San Pedro St at West Mission St
