SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) — An Atmospheric River in the Bay Area has triggered severe weather alerts and several road closures. Here is a recap of what happened on Sunday, Oct. 25.

10:30 p.m.
- Areal flood advisory issued through 3 a.m. for Santa Cruz County due to heavy rainfall.
10:20 p.m.
- Areal flood advisory extended until 12:15 a.m. for the SF Peninsula and San Mateo County.
9:40 p.m.
- The Mill Valley Community Center has opened up as a warming center for anyone who needs to leave their home because of rising flood water.
- Storm forces Sonoma County schools to close on Monday.

9:00 p.m.
- Total precipitation for the month of October for downtown San Francisco is up to 6.27,” according to NWS Bay Area. “Across all months/days for a 24-hour period, this day will already take 9th all time. There’s definitely a chance to get up to 7th,” NWS tweeted.
- CHP diverts traffic due to rock slides shutting down Highway 50 at Echo Summit

- San Anselmo Avenue has been fully reopened in all directions due
- SF Public Works will open up a sandbag distribution operation at 7 a.m. on Monday. Residents can get up to 10 free sandbags
7:30 p.m.
- San Mateo County firefighters are assisting a homeowner on Lexington Drive in the Highlands after her garage flooded
- Effective Tuesday at 8 a.m.: Burn Permit Suspension lifted in Colusa, Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo Counties
7:10 p.m.
- Parts of Colfax in Placer County are under evacuation orders due to potential debris flows from high amounts of rain in the River Fire burn area
- Hill crest Blvd, south from 1565 Hillcrest Blvd to Spring Valley Rd. Spring Valley Rd. from Milk Ranch Road. Ben Taylor to the Bear River.
- Silicon Valley Power reported an outage affecting 928 customers due to high winds taking down a power line. Estimated restoration is midnight
7:00 p.m.
- Flood Advisory extended until 9 P.M. for parts of Napa, Sonoma and Marin Counties.
- Evacuation Orders released for the area of Neotomas Avenue and Tachevah Drive, Brookhaven Drive, Eastmoor Drive, Washoe Court, and Siminole Court in Santa Rosa. “All other residents residing near streams, creeks, and low-lying areas should continue to exercise caution until the current storm passes and the water levels recede,” Santa Rosa Fire said.
6:40 p.m.
- Rock slide closes Hwy 70 in Butte County. “Storms are expected to continue overnight. Stay home, stay safe!” Caltrans HQ tweeted
- Sausalito declared a state of emergency Sunday afternoon, due to widespread storm damage.
6:20 p.m.
- Flooding has been reported throughout Suisun City
- Several traffic signals through the region are out in Pacifica
6:00 p.m.
- The rain shelter at Moscone, 100 beds, is completely full. “We are grateful that there are 100 people who will have a dry bed & hot dinner, & grateful to the members of the Homeless Outreach Team, who worked tirelessly over last 2 days to get people inside,” said Matt Haney.
- Two cars in a flooded off ramp. San Francisco officers helped those in the car out of the area.
5:30 p.m.
- Marin City/Sausalito exit on Southbound Highway 101 closed due to flooding.
- Avoid ED-50 Caldor Fire burn area
- Flooding 31st and California in San Francisco
5:00 p.m.
- Mill Valley police say Miller Avenue is closed at three spots, due to flooding. Spots include Montford Avenue, at Camino Alto, and between Camino Alto and Almonte Boulevard.
- An update from Silicon Valley Power
4:30 p.m.
- As of 4:30 p.m. today (Sunday, Oct. 24), approximately 147,744 PG&E customers in the Bay Area are experiencing weather-related power outages. The Bay Area remains the most impacted area of PG&E’s service territory.
- Shoreline Highway in Olema closed from Sir Francis Drake/Hwy 1 to Sir Francis Drake/Hwy1 in Point Reyes due to flooding.
- The National Weather Service has issued Flood Warnings for portions of Mendocino County.
- Highway 1 in Pacifica is closed in both directions at the Manor Dr offramp due to flooding. People are asked to avoid the area.
4:00 p.m.
- The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory.
- In Fairfax, sirens have been activated in Ross, San Anselmo, and Fairfax. Officials say creeks are starting to crest, and crews are asking people to avoid the area. Latest information: https://emergency.marincounty.org/
- Sonoma County published a list of road closures due to the storm.
