SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha are known for three things — hoops, food and their great way with kids.
Kids from Raphael House in San Francisco took a break from their usual afterschool program to join a painting party at Ayesha’s San Francisco restaurant International Smoke.
Ayesha and her restaurant partner Michael Mina cooked up the idea.
“We wanted to do something that was a little more family, a little more community, and Ayesha came up with idea and I thought it was a great idea because it’s something that will create some memories,” Mina said.
Raphael House helps low income families who are experiencing homelessness.
KRON4’s Vicki Liviakis sat down with Ayesha to talk about her love of family and serving up comfort food.
“There’s no better love language to me than through food,” Ayesha said. “My husband and I have been blessed with so much, so in whatever way I can, to help out the next person, especially to help the next generation of children, I’m all here for it.”
The kids are partial to the spicy chips and got to chow down on delicious ribs and mac cheese.
For Ayesha it’s good food for the soul.
Next time you decide to dine on delicious international BBQ, you can appreciate the restaurant’s masterpiece murals for yourself.
