REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KRON) — Crews responded to a 2-alarm fire burning at a Valero gas station in Redwood City Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The fire was burning at the intersection of Whipple Avenue and Veterans Boulevard.

Other gas stations, including Chevron and Arco, surround the area.

The Redwood City fire chief said the fire was put out quickly.

Whipple Avenue and Veterans Boulevard reopened to the public after the busy intersection was closed due to the fire.
