Young man makes bomb threat at 2 South Bay high schools: police

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (KRON) -Separate bomb threats forced evacuations at two South Bay high schools on Tuesday, according to authorities.

Students at St. Francis High School in Mountain View were evacuated after police received a call regarding the threat shortly after 12:30 p.m.

About an hour later, at 1:54 p.m., a young male called into Presentation High School claiming to have placed multiple bombs throughout campus, according to San Jose police.

This immediately forced student evacuations.

San Jose police confirmed that the threat came from the same number and similar voice of the young man calling into St. Francis High School.

Units are currently at Presentation High School handling a bomb threat that was called in at 1:54 PM.

The school has been evacuated and Officers will be conducting a sweep of the campus.

Just before 2:00 p.m. Mountain View police tweeted that the scene was secure at St. Francis High School , but they are continuing to conduct a search on campus and remain on scene.

At 3:30 p.m., San Jose police brought 3 K-9 dogs to campus that are trained to smell out explosive devices, but nothing was found.

Mountain View police also confirmed that earlier rumors of a potential active shooter on campus weren’t valid.

Other than the voice of the suspect sounding similar, police still have no lead on who it is.
