Bay Area Red Flag warning in effect through Thursday

Red Flag warnings are in effect through Thursday afternoon in the Bay Area as low humidity and dry grass are creating critical fire conditions.

The warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday.


High winds add to the potential danger as any fire that starts could spread very quickly.

Cal Fire is urging everyone to exercise extreme caution outdoors during the Red Flag warning.

According to Cal Fire, 1 out of every 10 fires in Sonoma and Napa counties is started by people using equipment around dry vegetation.

LAND USE RESTRICTIONS:

The following land use restrictions are in effect for the Marin Municipal Water District, Mount Tamalpais State Park, the Marin County Open Space District, and the Point Reyes National Seashore during the Red Flag conditions:
